Pat and Maxine first worked together in 1995, creating BBC2 current affairs show, Black Britain. They won the prestigious Royal Television Society Current Affairs award for their documentary, ‘Why Stephen’, working with veteran reporter Charles Wheeler to explore why the murder of Stephen Lawrence became a landmark case when other racial attacks did not.
Maxine Watson is an award-winning former Director of Programmes for Twenty Twenty television and former Commissioning Editor BBC documentaries. Maxine’s scripted and non-scripted credits include African Queens and Cleopatra ,for Netflix, Executive Producer on BAFTA nominated and Grierson Award winning, ‘We are Black and British’ , ‘Judy Love : invisible , black and Female’ and exec’d across a range popular series including Who Do You Think You Are , A House Through Time , The Great Pottery Throw Down, Out Of Their League and scripted singles including Shirley Bassey , Mrs Mandela and The scandalous Lady W. Maxine is now a freelance exec producer and is currently serving on Grierson Board of Trustees.

The Andrea Levy project
Kingtown LLP has optioned the first three books written by Andrea Levy, winner of the Orange Prize for Fiction, the Whitbread Novel Award, the Whitbread Book of the Year award, the Orange Best of the Best, and the Commonwealth Writer's Prize. The three books - 'Every Light In The House Burnin' ' , 'Never Far From Nowhere', and 'Fruit Of The Lemon' - are widely considered to be her most autobiographical books and contain a rich vein of humour that underpin the complex challenges facing the first generation of black Britons. This project is being developed for TV.
The Sarah Rector Project
This is the gripping true story of Sarah Rector, an African American born into poverty in 1902 who'd become a millionaire at the tender age of 12. She was the first and youngest black female millionaire in the U.S, her wealth a direct consequence of her ancestors being held as slaves by native Americans, which led to her being granted barren land that masked greater riches. This project is being developed for podcast, TV and publishing.
